Senior Director of Engineering-Network Infrastructure (SRE) at Google
Jessica currently holds the position of Sr Engineering Director within Site Reliability Engineering in Google. Where her focus is on the reliability of google global network infrastructure, software and services ( WAN, Edge, GCP), product and search.
Prior to joining Google Jessica was a Senior Staff Research Scientist/Principal Investigator with Intel Labs. Her main focus was on the research and development of future dependable cyber physical systems for evolving edge networks. Jessica's interests include distributed systems, cyber physical systems, information centric networking, embedded systems, big data technologies, sensing, cloud computing, infrastructure management, enterprise architecture amongst others.
Jessica has extensive experience in agile methods, software management, IP management & technical Management. Jessica was responsible for a number of research collaborations both internally within Intel and with external academic and industrial partners globally. Jessica has been actively involved in the European Framework Program (FP) (H2020) and research programs with SFI and NSF.
Jessica has authored several scientific papers and holds a number of patents in the field of IoT, service orchestration and information centric networking.
Jessica is the chair of women in big data (WiBD) Irish Chapter and is passionate about building a diverse and inclusive technical pipeline of talent. She is the sponsor of google Irish university techmaker scholarship.
Jessica graduated with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the National University of Ireland Maynooth 1999, she was awarded an honours M.Sc. in Computing from the Dublin Institute of Technology 2008 and was awarded Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin in June 2019.
