Your gift will enable a future in which gender and resources don’t limit equitable participation in big data-influenced careers.
Funding, big or small, enables us to cultivate tangible opportunities for women through accessible training, acting as a catalyst for advancement with thought leadership promotion, and empowering equity allies of any gender with inclusive mentorship programing.
Women in Big Data (WiBD) started as a grass-roots organization in 2015 with the mission to inspire and connect women in big data careers. Starting with 15 members and one chapter in San Francisco’s Bay Area, the WiBD community grew to over 17,000 members across 40 chapters and six continents spreading inspiration, growing networks, and promoting member success on an ever-expanding platform.
Women in Big Data is an inclusive community who appreciate that, in the broadest sense, big data is a tool being harnessed at every level, in every industry today, to shape tomorrow. Broader diversity among leaders and practitioners will improve the use and function of big data, ensuring a future that’s better for all of us.
If 20 people give at the $300 level, then Women in Big Data can deliver a week long bootcamp on AI skills free of charge to 20 people with financial need. Bootcamps focus on building skills through labs developed around real world scenarios and taught by professionals, not academics.
If 250 people donate at the $100 level, then Women in Big Data can double our mentorship capacity from 1000 to 2000 people in 2022. Help us expand the capacity of our mentoring programs so that we can support more women and underrepresented communities in their careers.
If 100 people give at the $50 level, we can provide leadership skills development programs for 40 Women in Big Data volunteers around the world. Equity is a crucial part of ending bias, and underrepresented groups must have a seat at the table and on boards to make real change possible.
