General Description: Whether you are fresh out of school, in your first technology job, or pivoting from another field, this program allows you to select a mentor from a wide variety of technology backgrounds. Particular focuses is given to areas such as:
- Starting a New Career in Data Science or Computing Technology
- Job Searching Skills
- Career Advancement Strategy
- Technical Skills (Data Science/Analytics, Software Engineering, Technical Project Management)
- Interpersonal Skills (Communication, Collaboration, Leadership, Self-Advocacy)
- Business Skills (Business Analysis, Business Strategic Planning, Product Management)
Logistics: This is a 12 week program. Mentoring pairs will meet virtually for a minimum of four one-hour sessions.
Language and Time Zone: This program allows mentees and mentors to match on language preference, and mentoring pairs can agree on the time of their meeting.
Program Offering: We are currently accepting applications until January 31, 2023 for our Winter 2023 session which starts in March 2023 and concludes in May 2023.
Mentee Eligibility: This program is open to members of any Women in Big Data chapter, with 0 to 2 years professional technology experience, and a strong motivation to grow professionally.
Mentor Eligibility: Mentor applications are open to members of any Women in Big Data chapter, with 5 or more years professional expertise in technology, and are interested in sharing insights from their professional, leadership, interpersonal, and/or business related skills.
