Are you new to the world of data science and analytics? Women in Big Data are excited to be partnering with Netflix to help you understand the various roles in this field. Netflix is presenting a series of hands-on workshops

Session 1 – A Day In The Life of Data Engineer
This workshop will be led by Rashmi Shamprasad, a Senior Data Engineer working in the Growth & Business Operations team at Netflix. This session talks will walk you through the typical “Data Engineering” lifecycle.
You’ll be able to get a feel of the space by means of hands on exercises using PySpark on Jupyter Notebooks.

5:30 to 6:00 pm – Networking (Light refreshments will be served)
6:00 to 7:30 pm – Workshop
7:30 pm to 8:00 pm – Wrap up

To make the most out of this data engineering workshop, we require participants to have working knowledge of Python or any other programming language. Loaner laptops with preinstalled software will be provided to participants.

Small bites and refreshments will be served. A complimentary LYFT code to get you to and from the event will be sent to those confirmed for the workshops.
