Science of Breathing

Suchitra Chandran is a Senior Software Engineer with Intel where she works with the Tester Integration team to build test programs for server chips. She holds a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida. She was introduced to breathing and meditation in 2009 by her sister. These techniques have helped her handle anxiety and stress whether it was related to finding jobs, coping with heartbreaks, paying off student loans, marriage, childbirth and most recently handling working from home with an 18-month-old. A facilitator of the Art of Living’s SKY Breath Meditation Workshop, she volunteers her time leading numerous Introductory breathing sessions, teaching individuals the power of the breath and coaching many women in the community to lead happier and fulfilled lives.

Abstract: We spend a major portion of Our life on acquiring skills that help us grow professionally and personally. But nowhere are we taught how to manage our negative emotions of anger, jealousy, sadness and worry. In this session we will take a closer look at the mind and understand how the breath is connected to our emotions. We will explore the power of breath through learning a breathing technique followed by a guided meditation .You will also learn more about my meditation journey and the SKY breathing technique and research about the SKY breathwork.
