The myth of supermom – I pull up to the field in the sensible SUV and jump out of the car. My youngest meets me on the sidewalk so I can tie her soccer shoes. Violin lesson ends 15 minutes after soccer starts so we change in the car. Shoes – check, water bottle – check, soccer ball – check. Have you ever had a moment like this?! As a full-time working mom with 3 kids there are so many stories. Supermom is a lie – seriously. It is not humanly possible to work full time, raise kids and shoulder most of the household responsibilities.
There is help – Job Sharing provides a serious answer to this problem. Finding a job-mate to share your job will allow you to have time and be the fun mom! Job sharing is a work model in which two individuals with common and complementary skills share the responsibilities of a full-time job. This work model supports a work life balance desired by individuals who need to work at a reduced work hours while maintaining their career.
