Workshop Tracks:

Cloud Strategy (Non-technical, Open to all levels)

In this workshop, we’ll review why public cloud adoption continues to grow, define need-to-know cloud terminology, and help you understand the stages of cloud maturity, and where your organization fits. Then we’ll cover three priorities for accelerating the value to the business in a cloud transformation and shift the focus to helping you define your overall cloud strategy.

Building a Serverless Data Lake using AWS Lake Formation (Technical, Intermediate level)

Data lakes have enabled organizations to harness more data, from more sources, in less time. Data lakes empower users to collaborate and analyze data in different ways leads to better, faster decision making. AWS Lake Formation is a fully managed service that makes it easier for you to build, secure, and manage data lakes. Lake Formation simplifies and automates many of the complex manual steps that are usually required to create data lakes. In this workshop, you will learn to design, build, and operate a serverless data lake solution with AWS Lake Formation. This session will include topics such as ingesting data from data sources at large scale, storing the data securely and durably, enabling the capability to use the right tool to process large volumes of data, and understanding the options available for setting permissions correctly with AWS Lake Formation. Bring your laptop and have fun building a serverless data lake! We will provide AWS accounts for you to work through the data lake building exercise.
