Enlighten IT Consulting, a MacAulay-Brown, Inc. company is looking for a talented Data Engineer to support the acquisition of mission critical and mission support data sets from across the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN). The preferred candidate will have a background in supporting cyber and/or network related missions within the military spaces, as either an analyst, engineer, architect, or developer. The ideal candidate will have worked with big data systems, complex structured and unstructured data sets, and have supported government data acquisition, analysis, and/or sharing efforts in the past. To excel in the position, the candidate shall have a strong attention to detail, be able to understand technical complexities, the political nature of the data sharing discussions (PII, Classification, etc), and the willingness to learn and adapt to the situation. The candidate will be relied upon for sound advice in completing MOUs, MOAs, engineering request forms, and other government data sharing information.  The candidate will regularly work independently and as part of a large team to accomplish the client’s objectives and will need to regularly brief to senior leadership progress related to the objectives.

Security Clearance:

  • A current security clearance is desired at multiple levels (including candidates that are clearable) and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

Required Skills:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent fields
  • 5+ years of professional experience, minimum of which 3 years were in a Government/ Military/ Contractor role
  • Strong software development background and demonstrated experience in writing data collection and transportation tools in support of big data efforts.
  • Proficient understanding and usage of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to diverse audience
  • Ability to travel to DOE customer sight whenever needed.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior Experience supporting cyber and/or network related missions within the military spaces, as either an analyst, engineer, architect, or developer.
