Women in Big Data Berlin and Bettermile bring together leaders from technology, AI, and life sciences for an inspiring evening of insights, collaboration, and meaningful connections.
On October 22, 2026, WiBD Berlin, in collaboration with Bettermile, hosted “Navigating Intelligence – From Geo AI to Agent Orchestration,” bringing together professionals and industry leaders to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming navigation, decision-making, and automation.
Hosted by Bettermile in Berlin, the event connected women and industry experts from technology, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences, with perspectives from organizations including AstraZeneca, SAP, AWS, Bettermile, and Tenthpin Solutions.
The evening explored a timely question: As AI systems become increasingly autonomous, how do we ensure humans remain in control of the decisions that matter?
AI is rapidly evolving beyond systems that analyze information and recommend actions. Increasingly, AI-powered agents can coordinate complex tasks, navigate decisions, and automate workflows across industries.
The discussion examined this evolution, from AI-powered navigation in physical environments to agent orchestration in complex business and healthcare settings.
While these developments create exciting opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and improved outcomes, they also raise important questions about trust, accountability, and human oversight.
How much autonomy should AI systems have? Where should human judgment remain essential? And how can organizations balance the convenience of automation with the responsibility to maintain control?
These questions provided a foundation for an evening of thoughtful and sometimes provocative conversations.
The event featured insights from Dr. Claudia Stangarone and Dr. Anita Puppe, whose professional experiences illustrated how AI innovation is taking shape across different industries.
Dr. Stangarone shared perspectives informed by her transition from academia into the AI industry, where she works at the intersection of science, technology, and innovation.

Dr. Puppe, Global Growth Director at Tenthpin Solutions, brought valuable insights from her work connecting medical startups, major corporations, and industry experts across Germany, Israel, the United States, and beyond.

Her contributions highlighted the growing potential of AI across the life sciences value chain and the importance of translating technological advances into meaningful business outcomes.
Together, the speakers offered practical examples that made complex AI developments more tangible, demonstrating both the opportunities and challenges organizations encounter as they move from experimentation toward real-world applications.
The fireside discussion, “Who Navigates Whom?”, encouraged participants to look beyond the technology itself and consider its implications for people, organizations, and society.
The conversation explored the tension between AI’s expanding capabilities and the continuing importance of human judgment.
Some possibilities are exciting, promising entirely new ways to solve problems and improve decision-making. Others raise concerns about transparency, accountability, and the consequences of delegating increasingly complex decisions to autonomous systems.
The speakers drew on their professional experiences to bring these issues to life, while audience questions added new perspectives and kept the discussion lively and engaging.
The result was a conversation that went beyond technical capabilities to address the broader question of how AI can be developed and deployed responsibly.

A central theme throughout the evening was the importance of collaboration.
As AI creates new opportunities across the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, meaningful progress increasingly depends on bringing together diverse expertise—from technology development and data science to healthcare, business strategy, and organizational transformation.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, challenge assumptions, and explore how emerging AI capabilities can deliver practical benefits.
It also reinforced an important message: Turning AI innovation into real-world impact requires more than technology. It requires people, shared knowledge, and collaboration across disciplines.
Beyond the presentations and discussions, the evening demonstrated the value of the Women in Big Data community in creating spaces where professionals can connect, learn, and grow together.
A special thank you goes to Dr. Katarzyna (Kasia) Stoltmann, Founder of the WiBD Berlin Chapter, for bringing the community together and opening the evening.

We also extend our appreciation to Ach Petrosyan and the Bettermile team for hosting the event, sharing insights into their work, and creating such a welcoming environment for discussion and networking.

Thank you to Dr. Claudia Stangarone, Dr. Anita Puppe, and everyone who participated, contributed questions, and shared their perspectives.
Events like this remind us that some of the most valuable outcomes extend beyond the knowledge exchanged during a single evening. They include the new relationships formed, fresh ideas sparked, and opportunities for future collaboration.

As AI continues to reshape industries and redefine how decisions are made, Women in Big Data remains committed to connecting professionals, elevating diverse perspectives, and creating opportunities for women to contribute to the future of data and AI.
