Embracing the Podcasting Revolution: Connecting Globally through Audio Content

The rise of podcasting has revolutionized the world of communication, offering a lightning-fast way to connect with global audiences. Podcasts have emerged as an indispensable tool for speakers and organizations eager to share their expertise directly from their own locations. These audio contents provide a unique avenue to engage with listeners, accessible on computers, tablets, and smartphones alike.

Our Podcasting Journey

Our venture into podcasting was fueled by the enthusiastic feedback we received following the first in-person event of Women in Big Data Brussels in November 2021. Recognizing that not everyone can attend physical events, we received numerous requests for digital alternatives. This prompted us to delve deep into the details of podcasting, exploring the ‘why,’ ‘what,’ ‘when,’ ‘where,’ ‘who,’ and ‘how’ of this exciting medium. The multitude of ‘how to start a podcast’ guides available online served as invaluable guides throughout our journey.

Having completed all the necessary steps to launch our podcast, we eagerly scheduled our inaugural interview with Virginia Dignum, Professor of Responsible Artificial Intelligence at Umeå University. Our conversation delved into the significance of responsible AI, encompassing diversity and inclusion, and how AI can contribute to human and environmental well-being. Virginia also shared her vision for the future of responsible AI. The response to our first episode exceeded our expectations, igniting our passion to continue our podcasting venture. To date, we’ve recorded ten episodes featuring industry experts and thought leaders on topics ranging from career growth to Big Data and Analytics. You can explore them all on our Buzzsprout channel.

The more you understand your business, its risks, revenue generation strategies, and client base, the more enriching your career can be.” –  Business Skills & Career Growth – A Talk With Erika Lunceford (PeerNova)

Where are you standing now? Where do you want to go? How do you get there?” – Career Advancement Strategies – A Talk With Deborah Sgro (Women in Big Data Mentoring Program Director)

Better Together – WiBD Brussels & Berlin

This summer, we had an engaging conversation with the Women in Big Data – Berlin Chapter, which led to an exciting partnership. Starting in September 2023, we’re set to increase our podcast frequency, delivering episodes featuring top speakers who address our audience’s pressing concerns. Furthermore, we’ve given our podcast a fresh identity: “Women in Big Data Brussels and Berlin Podcast“.
